Description

Holding Hope is a violet plum yarn inspired by quiet strength and steady faith.

Layered violets, soft plum, heathered lavender, and gentle blush tones unfold across a creamy base like twilight settling into evening prayer. Subtle speckles and tonal shifts create depth and movement — a colorway that feels steady, reflective, and anchored in grace.

This is a shade for lingering stitches and courageous beginnings. For projects worked slowly. For seasons when hope is not loud, but chosen daily. For hands that hold both tenderness and resolve.

Part of The Winter Hymn Collection, this colorway is inspired by the song “Holding Hope” from the album Winter Hymn by Between Alleluia & Amen, written by Julia Morris. It carries the quiet resilience of faith in the in-between — a reminder that hope can be held, even when the light feels distant.

✨ Perfect for:

  • Cozy sweaters and shawls with a gentle glow

  • Baby knits and gifts full of meaning

  • Projects that mark a new chapter

This violet plum yarn was created for lingering stitches and courageous beginnings. Every skein is hand-dyed with care, so no two are exactly alike — just like every new beginning.

🧶 Available Bases for Violet Plum Yarn

DK Weight — Superwash Merino Wool
The DK base takes color quickly and brightly, resulting in more vivid saturation and crisp definition. The superwash treatment offers durability and ease of care, making this option well-suited for garments and projects that will be worn often.

Fingering Weight — Non-Superwash Merino Wool
The fingering base absorbs color more softly, producing gentle transitions and a slightly more muted, luminous effect. As a non-superwash wool, this base blooms beautifully after washing and offers a traditional wool feel ideal for heirloom pieces, shawls, and slow stitching.

🎨 Color Variation & Dye Lots

Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches. While care is taken to achieve a cohesive colorway, subtle variations in tone and depth are a natural part of the hand-dyeing process and what make each skein unique.

Lighting conditions, screens, and displays may also affect how colors appear online. For the most accurate representation, please refer to images showing multiple skeins together.

For larger projects, it is recommended to purchase enough yarn from the same dye lot to complete your project. If you are combining skeins, alternating skeins every few rows will help ensure a smooth, blended transition.

The same colors are used in both bases, allowing the DK and fingering weights to coordinate seamlessly while still honoring the unique character of each fiber.

🎵 A Note on Winter Hymn

Winter Hymn is a collection of original music and hand-dyed yarns released together throughout the winter season. Each colorway corresponds to a song, inviting makers to listen, reflect, and create in rhythm with the music.

Holding Hope is about steadfast faith in uncertain seasons. It reflects the strength it takes to remain anchored when answers are not immediate — to hold hope gently, even when the light feels far away. The song carries themes of resilience, trust, and the steady courage to believe that grace is still at work beneath the surface.

Each skein is dyed with care, intention, and prayer, honoring both the season it represents and the hands that will bring it to life.
