Description
Heart Rest is the color of safe arrival.
Blush rose, deep berry, and warm coral tones unfold across a glowing base like evening light settling into quiet comfort. Soft tonal shifts and gentle speckles create movement and warmth — a colorway that feels steady, held, and tender.
This is a shade for exhale moments.
For healing that feels rooted.
For projects made slowly, with intention and care.
Part of The Winter Hymn Collection, this colorway is inspired by the song “Heart Rest” from the album Winter Hymn by Between Alleluia & Amen, written by Julia Morris. It reflects the peace that comes after long striving — the sacred quiet of knowing you are allowed to soften.
✨ Perfect for:
• Cozy sweaters and shawls full of warmth
• Heirloom baby knits and meaningful gifts
• Projects that hold comfort in every stitch
• Garments that feel like being wrapped in grace
Every skein is hand-dyed in small batches in Lynchburg, Virginia. Subtle variations are part of the beauty — no two skeins are exactly alike.
🧶 Available Bases for Pink hand dyed yarn
DK Weight — Superwash Merino Wool
The DK base takes color quickly and brightly, resulting in more vivid saturation and crisp definition. The superwash treatment offers durability and ease of care, making this option well-suited for garments and projects that will be worn often.
Fingering Weight — Non-Superwash Merino Wool
The fingering base absorbs color more softly, producing gentle transitions and a slightly more muted, luminous effect. As a non-superwash wool, this base blooms beautifully after washing and offers a traditional wool feel ideal for heirloom pieces, shawls, and slow stitching.
🎨 Color Variation & Dye Lots
Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches. While care is taken to achieve a cohesive colorway, subtle variations in tone and depth are a natural part of the hand-dyeing process and what make each skein unique.
Lighting conditions, screens, and displays may also affect how colors appear online. For the most accurate representation, please refer to images showing multiple skeins together.
For larger projects, it is recommended to purchase enough yarn from the same dye lot to complete your project. If you are combining skeins, alternating skeins every few rows will help ensure a smooth, blended transition.
The same colors are used in both bases, allowing the DK and fingering weights to coordinate seamlessly while still honoring the unique character of each fiber.
🎵 A Note on Winter Hymn
Winter Hymn is a collection of original music and hand-dyed yarns released together throughout the winter season. Each colorway corresponds to a song, inviting makers to listen, reflect, and create in rhythm with the music.
Heart Rest is a song about sacred slowing — about learning to soften after long seasons of striving. It reflects the kind of strength that is not loud or urgent, but steady and rooted. The lyrics speak to the quiet relief of being held by grace, of finding peace not by escaping difficulty, but by resting within it.
It is a reminder that healing does not always arrive in bursts of light. Sometimes it comes as warmth returning to the chest, as breath deepening, as the heart remembering it is safe.
Each skein is dyed with care, intention, and prayer, honoring both the season it represents and the hands that will bring it to life.
